Name:Andrew ‘Ash’ Ashworth.
Roots:Originally from the Pendle area of East Lancs and came to Lancaster to study.
History:Active for many years in the Burnley and Pendle music scene and played in bands such as The Junk Virgins, Oceans Of Honey and Harry Wharton&Co (still has an active role with the latter).
Instruments:Bass. Also plays synth and dabbles with electronics. Enjoys recording audio and has a home studio.
Bands:Currently plays with Mostly Hums, Rockitt 88 and Harry Wharton... Occasionally collaborates with local musicians.
Influences:Very varied from new wave to dance music, classical, jazz and folk.
Favourite musicians:Jean Jacques Burnell, Richard Sinclair, Bill Bruford, Miles Davis, Sandy Denny, Richard Thompson, E, Brian Eno, Chris France, Keith Jarrett, Alex Harvey, Florian Schneider, Ralf Hutter, Tina Weymouty and Roger Waters... all in no particular order.
